Gas migration in oil and gas wells is defined as gases and/or fluids from adjacent formations invading a freshly cemented annulus. During well completions, can migrate to zones with lower pressure or even the surface. Static gel strength (SGS), related yield stress of cement, widely accepted measurement used predict minimize migration. In this review article, we look at mechanisms some possible solutions during cementing. The use static (SGS) experimental measurements for SGS wellbore reduction are discussed.
